Journal of Preventive and Integrated Medicine (JPIM)  •  eISSN: Pending

Statement of Principle & International Alignment

The Journal of Preventive and Integrated Medicine (JPIM) is committed to editorial independence, academic integrity, and evidence-based scholarly decision-making. Editorial decisions are made independently of commercial, financial, institutional, or personal interests and are guided by the scientific and ethical merits of submitted work.

JPIM recognizes the importance of a clear and respectful relationship between journal editors and the journal's ownership or publishing organization. The Editor-in-Chief and editorial team retain responsibility for editorial evaluation and publication decisions, subject to the journal's policies, ethical standards, and applicable legal requirements.

Separation of Commercial Interests

Editorial evaluation and publication decisions are kept separate from commercial operations, advertising, sponsorships, and publishing revenues. Commercial considerations do not determine whether a manuscript is accepted, revised, or rejected.

Editorial Autonomy

Editors are responsible for scholarly assessment, peer-review oversight, and editorial decisions within the scope and policies of JPIM. Editorial judgments should not be altered because of commercial, political, institutional, or personal interests.

Conflicts of Interest

Editors, reviewers, and authors are expected to disclose relevant conflicts of interest. Appropriate measures may be taken to protect the independence and fairness of editorial and peer-review processes.

Research & Publication Ethics

Editorial decisions take account of research integrity, publication ethics, appropriate ethical approval, informed consent where applicable, authorship, plagiarism, data integrity, and other relevant publication-ethics requirements.

Editorial Decision Criteria

Editorial decisions are based primarily on the scientific and scholarly merits of submitted manuscripts, their relevance to the scope of JPIM, methodological quality, research integrity, and compliance with applicable ethical and legal requirements.

Editorial Appeals & Oversight

Authors may raise legitimate concerns regarding editorial or peer-review decisions through the journal's established editorial communication channels. Appeals should provide a clear rationale and relevant supporting information.

Appeals are considered by appropriate editorial personnel in accordance with the journal's policies. Where appropriate, conflicts of interest are taken into account when determining who should review an appeal.

Relationship Between the Editorial Team and Publisher

The editorial team and publisher work collaboratively to maintain the quality, sustainability, accessibility, and integrity of the journal. Their respective responsibilities are maintained through clearly defined roles and procedures.

The publisher does not direct individual editorial or peer-review decisions. Matters involving legal obligations, publishing operations, financial administration, technical infrastructure, or research-integrity concerns may be brought to the appropriate editorial or publishing authority as applicable.

JPIM Commitment

JPIM is committed to maintaining a fair, transparent, independent, and academically rigorous editorial process in the interests of authors, reviewers, readers, patients, research participants, and the wider scientific community.
